YouTube Communication
TodayTube communicates with YouTube (youtube.com and youtubei.googleapis.com) to load videos, detect live broadcasts, and discover content. Search queries for content discovery are anonymous — they are never tied to your YouTube account and carry no identifying information.
Channel Data
Your subscribed channels, live monitoring preferences, and the discovery cache (DubChannelCache) are stored locally on your device using standard macOS preferences. This data is never uploaded to any server and never transmitted to us or any third party.
Apple Intelligence
On supported devices, TodayTube uses Apple Intelligence (FoundationModels) to generate search queries for content discovery. All AI processing happens entirely on your device. No prompts or results are sent to external servers. Apple Intelligence is optional — the app works fully without it.
WebView & Safari Session
TodayTube uses a WKWebView to play YouTube videos. This WebView may inherit cookies from Safari, including your YouTube/Google session. The app does not read, extract, or transmit these cookies. They remain within the WebView sandbox managed by macOS.
Data We Collect
None. TodayTube does not collect analytics, does not use tracking, does not contain advertising, and does not communicate with any external server other than YouTube for video playback and content discovery.
Children's Privacy
TodayTube does not collect any data from anyone, including children.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
