1. Information We Collect

SkyHUD Aviation does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All sensor data is processed in real time on your device for flight instrument display.

2. How the App Processes Data

All processing in SkyHUD Aviation occurs exclusively on your device:

• GPS location — used to calculate ground speed, track, position coordinates, and satellite quality. Location data is displayed on the instrument panel in real time and is not logged or transmitted.
• Motion sensors — the accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer provide attitude (pitch and roll), heading, turn rate, G-force, and slip data. Raw sensor data is processed through Kalman filters for accuracy and is never stored.
• Barometer — the iPhone's pressure sensor provides barometric altitude and vertical speed. Pressure data is processed in real time and is not recorded.
• Camera — the rear camera provides a live augmented reality background for the instrument panel. The camera feed is displayed in real time and is never recorded by the app unless you explicitly start screen recording.
• Screen recording — if you choose to record, the video is saved locally to your device's photo library using Apple's ReplayKit. The recording is never transmitted by SkyHUD Aviation.

3. Data Sharing

We share no data with any third party. SkyHUD Aviation has no backend infrastructure, no analytics service, no advertising network, and no cloud dependency. There is no server to send data to.

4. Network Access

SkyHUD Aviation does not make network requests during operation. The app functions completely in airplane mode — which is expected, as it is designed to work during flight.

The only network activity that may occur is initiated by the operating system itself — for example, iOS location services may use network-assisted GPS for faster initial satellite lock. This behavior is controlled by Apple and is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

5. Device Permissions

SkyHUD Aviation requests the following permissions:

• Location (Always) — required for GPS-based ground speed, track, altitude, and position data. "Always" permission is needed because pilots use the app continuously during flights lasting several hours, including when the screen locks briefly. You may choose "While Using" instead, though background GPS will not be available.
• Camera — required for the live AR cockpit background. The camera feed is displayed but never recorded or transmitted by the app.
• Motion & Fitness — required for the attitude indicator, heading, turn rate, G-force, and slip ball. Sensor data is processed in real time and never stored.
• Microphone — required only for screen recording with audio. Not used during normal instrument operation. You can deny this permission without affecting flight instruments.
• Photo Library — required only to save screen recordings. Not used during normal instrument operation.

You may revoke any permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security. Revoking location or motion permissions will disable the corresponding flight instruments.

6. Children's Privacy

SkyHUD Aviation does not collect data from any user, including children under the age of 13. The app has no account system, no social features, and no content targeted at children. It complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by design.

7. Data Retention

SkyHUD Aviation stores only your instrument preferences locally on your device — these include your QNH setting, aircraft type, night mode preference, and display configuration. These preferences contain no personal information and can be cleared by deleting the app.

No flight tracks, sensor recordings, location history, or video is stored by SkyHUD Aviation unless you explicitly use the screen recording feature, in which case the recording is saved to your photo library under your control.

8. Your Rights

Because SkyHUD Aviation collects no personal data on any server, there is no data to access, correct, export, or delete. If you wish to remove locally stored preferences, delete SkyHUD Aviation from your device.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes in a future version, the updated policy will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. We will not reduce your privacy protections without providing clear notice.
