Sigma Vox does not connect to the internet. It does not send your voice or your data anywhere. Everything — speech recognition, language processing, voice synthesis — runs on your device using Apple Intelligence.
Open Settings and load any .txt, .pdf, or .json file. A restaurant menu, a technical manual, a museum guide, an employee handbook — anything up to 12,000 characters.
Tap Speak and ask your question naturally. Sigma Vox listens, detects your language automatically, and processes your question using Apple Intelligence on-device.
The answer is spoken back to you in your language — regardless of what language your file is written in. Ask in English, answer in English. Ask in Spanish, answer in Spanish.

Enable Totem Mode and your iPad becomes a self-service station. Visitors tap their language flag, ask their question, and receive a spoken answer — with zero staff involvement.
Select the language you will speak. Sigma Vox uses this to configure the speech recognizer. Responses are always automatic — the app detects your question's language and replies in kind, regardless of the file language.
Knowledge only — answers exclusively from your file. If the answer is not there, it says so. No hallucination. Knowledge + general — checks your file first, then falls back to Apple Intelligence general knowledge on-device.
Load any .txt, .json, or .pdf file up to 12,000 characters. The file shown — sigmavox_knowledge.txt — is the Sigma Vox reference guide included with the app. Replace it with your own content: a menu, a manual, a product catalog, a museum guide.

All language processing uses Apple's on-device AI — the same technology powering Siri on Apple Silicon devices. No third-party AI services. No external API calls.
Your knowledge file is never written to disk by Sigma Vox. It lives in RAM during the session and is gone when the app closes. Only your preferences are stored between sessions.
Sigma Vox makes no network requests. It works in airplane mode, in a Faraday cage, on an airgapped device. There is no server to breach because there is no server.

Each language requires its speech pack downloaded via Siri settings. Go to Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri, add each language, and Siri downloads the pack automatically. Sigma Vox shows which languages are ready inside the app.

Any device that supports Apple Intelligence: iPhone 15 Pro and later, all iPhone 16 models, iPad with M1 or later, and Mac with Apple Silicon M1 or later. Apple Intelligence must be enabled in Settings.
