HDMI Bar does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Ever.
Nothing. HDMI Bar does not collect any personal information, usage data, analytics, crash reports sent to third parties, or any other data about you or your device.
HDMI Bar requests access to your camera and microphone because macOS treats USB HDMI capture cards as camera and audio input devices. This access is used exclusively to:
Your camera and microphone data never leaves your device. It is not sent to any server, analyzed, or stored outside of recordings you explicitly initiate.
When you use the Record feature, HDMI Bar saves a .mov file to your Movies folder (or a folder you choose in Preferences). This file is stored locally on your Mac. HDMI Bar does not upload, transmit, or access your recordings in any way after they are saved.
HDMI Bar stores your preferences (selected device, volume, buffer settings, output folder) using macOS UserDefaults. This data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
HDMI Bar does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising networks, or crash reporting tools. There are no trackers of any kind.
HDMI Bar does not request or use network access. No data is sent over the internet.
HDMI Bar does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
If we ever update this policy, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Given that we collect no data, we do not anticipate meaningful changes.
